Another Week Down

And so another week is in the books.  I burned over 5000 calories training, which sounds like a lot at the moment.  I’m sure it will seem like nothing when the summer rolls around and I’m training more than I care to think about.

So far, I’m finding the hardest part of this to be the drills.  Swimming drills are torture to me.  Not only do I suck at them, but I sink like a stone.  So every drill becomes an exercise in just trying to breathe.  Plus with the group atmosphere, it’s great for camaraderie, but not so great for correcting your technique.  Too many people and only one coach.  I might need to take a few private lessons…ugh.

The other day I had to remind myself that I’m already doing more than I ever have before.  I know it’s nothing compared to what I will be doing, but still…an hour and a half on the bike plus an hour of running is more than I’ve ever done in my life.  I need to remember to pat myself on the back for that.
